Exhibitions
An exhibition is a very valuable way of taking developed draft plans to the wider public and receiving detailed, considered responses. It can be used effectively in conjunction with a number of our other consultation products to form a larger programme.
The size and complexity of the exhibition can be tailored exclusively to the project. The format allows members of the public to view plans for a development in a controlled environment and put questions to the project team. Also included is a feedback mechanism, in the form of open ended, qualitative questions designed to encourage attendees to think constructively about the information before them.
Any exhibition is designed specifically to suit the projects needs, but our service can include all or some of the following:
Administration: booking venues, inviting attendees
- Advertisement: media liaison, leafleting, local advertisements
- Design and production of exhibition boards
- Design and production of feedback mechanism
- Local stakeholder sessions to brief elected and community representatives
- Facilitators advising the project team at the event
- Analysis of feedback responses and collation of this into a report
- Extras: website, question and aswer sheets, project team coaching
With this being the basic package, below are some other features that could be included for a project:
- Stand alone visual exhibition in local community facilities or at local events
- Virtual modelling of a development
- Branding of boards, website and project
- Travelling exhibitions which move around a larger area to increase the accessibility of the consultation
- Take-away information packs to accompany feedback forms
- Aerial view table, horizontal master-plan for easier orientation
- Exhibition coaching for clients and other consultants
Our practical approach to exhibitions encourages the maximum possible participation through:
- Substantial promotion
- Welcoming environment with games for the kids and tea/coffee for the adults
- Substantial teams of trained consultants on hand to provide advice
Following exhibitions, a full report is circulated to every participant from the exhibition and copies of the feedback forms are lodged with the local authority. We use the exhibition report as one of the main features of our approach for Statements of Community Involvement.
Our approach ensures that the client and the project receive the widest possible community input which will provide a robust and highly credible resource for promoting a scheme and defending attacks. |
