We intend to update this website continually throughout the consultation process and we hope it will form a comprehensive collection of relevant materials and information.

What has happened so far…

1. The Local Plan Inspector recommended the site for 1200 dwellings and social infrastructure after a Public Inquiry during 2003/4. The council accepted the Inspectors recommendation and adopted their Local Plan in January 2005.

2. July 2005 - A Workshop was undertaken with key stakeholders and local residents to discuss development principals for the site.

3. July/August 2005 - Following the workshop a DRAFT Concept Statement was produced by Crest Nicholson for wider Public Consultation in September 2005.

4. The DRAFT Concept Statement was exhibited for Public Consultation in September 2005.

5. A meeting was held with the workshop attendees to consider the public response in October 2005. A steering Group was elected from this meeting.

6. The revised Concept Statement has been lodged with the Council for its formal endorsement.

7. The Steering Group met in June to consider the Draft Master Plan and Design Statement. The Draft Master Plan and Design Statement is available here for your consideration.

8. A Planning Application was made for 1200 dwellings and associated infrastructure on 13th December 2006

9. Discussions with the council and other statutory consultees has led to the design statement being updated with design codes and details of the main highway design being submitted.

10. Work has started on implementation of a new reserve for newts and other wildlife adjacent to the site.
