Green Issues Newsletter - 11 March 2003

Green Issues Communications is inviting the development industry and community representatives to take part in a discussion focusing on the proposed development of over 200,000 new homes in the south east, as announced by John Prescott last month in the Communities Plan. The seminars will present the viewpoints of a number of key authorities on development issues within both local communities and the industry as a whole.

There are still places left on the series of seminars, taking place at the key areas affected by the government's plans.

The seminars are to be held at the following venues :

Hilton Dartford Bridge, Dartford - 20 March 2003

The University Arms Hotel, Cambridge - 25 March 2003

Holiday Inn, Milton Keynes - 27 March 2003

Ashford International Hotel, Ashford - 4 April 2003

Speakers will include Damian Green MP for Ashford (4 April), Cllr Nichola Harrison - Executive Member for Environment, Cambridge City Council (25 March), Cllr Cec Tallack - Cabinet Member for Resources and Regional Affairs, Milton Keynes Council (27 March) and Ian Christie - Visiting Professor for Sustainable Development, the University of Surrey. Tom Curtin, managing director of Green Issues Communications will update the seminar on recent developments in consultation processes and community liaison.

If you would like to attend, please call Lisa Turner on 0118 959 1211 to reserve your place.

Green Issues also offers a comprehensive monitoring service for this year's local elections. Almost 9,000 seats are being contested in what looks like the most unpredictable set of elections in many years. For further details please contact Gareth Epps on 0118 959 1211.
