Our approach is unique and highly successful. It is outlined in our book Managing Green Issues published in summer 2000 by Macmillan.
Green Issues Communications specialises in dealing with projects that have a ‘green’ or environmental angle, especially when they are difficult or contentious. We draw on the discipline of sociodynamics; essentially why people behave as they do. We work on projects when major change is opposed and endeavour to build a consensus between developers, politicians and the wider community.
A key tenet of sociodynamics is that it is not the small number of (often vocal) opponents that will stop a project, but rather the lack of supporters on the ground. Our goal is to mobilise these groups and individuals, and open the lines of communication between a business and its potential supporters. Sometimes these supporters will want something in return from the project, but often this is involvement; to be part of the decision-making process.
Palgrave Macmillan has recently re-published a second edition "Managing Green Issues" with new chapters on community consultation.
