design & layout

The overall masterplan and the configuration of the individual buildings and spaces has been conceived to achieve a number of urban design objectives which seek to deliver a new metropolitan ‘West End’ for Windsor.

Geometrical forms and angles used in both plan and section of the proposed buildings are influenced by the shape of a swan wing used to relate the design to the royal heritage of Windsor.
The office buildings will provide space standards and amenities suitable to attract the highest class of office tenant, and their style is that of clean and chic modern architecture which will create a new and temporary ‘heritage’ for the town.

The routes and connections through the site and the spaces between the buildings will be carried out in high quality landscape treatments, and will integrate the park with the town centre. The architectural language borrows from the overall W1 concept and its branding, notably in the use of elegant glass balconies on the residential buildings which relate back to the geometry derived from elements used in the branding such as the swan.
